Developed at PINEWOOD RACEWAY in the UK, this chassis provides a truly great platform for 1/24th scale S16D Sport car racing. The chassis handles superbly and is very strong. Enjoy building and racing this great car!

Cut the parts from the chassis fret as illustrated using a dremmel. Clean parts as required.
Chamfer and polish unbderside edges of side pans and front T bar leading edges.

Assemble and solder Pan assembly as shown on the left including the pin tube body mounts, cross bar and front pivot mounts and pivot wires (0.047 piano wire - 18 gauge).
Assemble and solder the centre section as pictured below. Solder front pan pivot points from underneath to ensure no solder enters the holes in the pan pivots. Add small lengths of 0.047 wire through the holes in the guide plate, guide spacer plate and centre section, these will help align the guide plate and also reinforce it. Deburr the lead wire carriers to ensure no damage or chafing of lead wires.

Slide the pan assembley together with th centre section. Ensure that the pans slide happily back and forth through the front pan mounts. When happy, solder in rear upstops (1) and front restrainer plates (2)

It is an idea to chamfer the edges marked in blue this will ensure a snug fit for the motor and also allow the use of 38t spur gears (gear recess designed primarily for up to 37t spur gears).
Ensure that pan section moves freely.
See photo below left. The red lines show where you should chamfer and polish edges to ensure smooth running of chassis on the track.
When chassis is assembled, polish underside on a sheet of fine wet & dry paper, wetting the paper with WD40.
Glue a small rectangular section of sponge rubber into the rear upstops (use glue only on top surface as shown) to damp upward movement of pans. Ensure pan assemble still slide backwards and forwards.
You can also add a further piano wire brace to the rear axle pillar block as shown in the photo below.

The final “machine” ready to race (or in this case - “raced”!)

Front axle is plastic “strimmer cable” although you can also use piano wire. The axle height has alternate mount holes for 1/2” or 14mm diameter front wheels.

It is an idea the glue the lead wires to the centre spine between the leadwire retainers to stop movement of the wires (use Evostic).
