BUILD THE BEARDOG UNIVERSAL
FORMULA CHASSIS

The Beardog Universal chassis is designed to fit a wide range of 1960’s Formula and Indy car bodies manufactured by Betta & Classic, Monogram and a whole range of other makers (not forgetting Beardog!). The design wheelbase is 3” (8’). Given that most rules allow for + or - 1/16” (2”), this gives a useable wheelbase of 7’10 - 8’ 2”

Your kit arrives like this. So it’s time to get out the Dremmel!

Cut Carefully and you should end up with

Check all parts fit in the right holes, then using Acid Flux & solder, solder in the uprights. Ensure that all is vertical, and trial fit the upper section. Adjust uprights if needed and solder top section to uprights. The hard work is now finished!
Scrub the chassis under the tap using a proprietary kitchen cleaner and a brush. When all flux and debris is removed, rinse and dry thoroughly .
To protect the chassis, spray with WD40.

There is really only one body mount required on a car this size, however provision is made in the “gearbox” for a secondary mounting point if you wish
