Thge EAGLE chassis is AB’s newest chassis and intended for both Strap Motor and G12 Eurosport. The chassis is intended to be strong and easy to build as well as having great handling qualities. Before cutting your kit, take a look at the chassis photo at the bottom of the page and identify the components. You will see that most of the components are located on two removable parts rails which run in the same location as the Wire side rails. Trim these two runners from the chassis fret and then trim off the pans, high pillar blocks and guide plate. Trim all other components from the removable parts rails. Clean all components as required prior to assembly.
1) Solder side rail tubes (g) into the receptors on both sides of the motor box. Slip wire rails into tubes and solder solid to the front receptors on the front T bar only (g2) (ensure approx 1.0mm lateral movement for the wire in the tube).

2) Choose which set of pillar blocks you wish to use and along with the motor brace, pillar brace top wire and pan overshoot stops (e), assemble and solder these to the motor box. Put aside the centre section until later.
3) Take both side pans and solder in front & rear Pin tube mounts (b), Pin tubes, Rear cross bar stops ( c) .
4) Go to the front of the pans and solder in Front pan hangers (j) and front wheel mounts/ pan stops.
5) Go back to the rear of the chassis, ensuring the centre section and pans are totally flat on your block. One at a time, Insert left and right cross bar extensions (I) into rear cross bar pan stops, slide in the Inner rear pan hangers (d) and solder these to the pans only. The pan hangers should float in the Cross bar extensions.
6) Slide the Rear Cross bar (I) into the Cross bar extensions (L) and solder joints.
7) Go to the front and solder Ffront pan hanger brackets (k) in place to lock the pans to the centre section. Ensure that both pand float evenly and that rear of pans do not drop below the chassis (this may be adjusted on the solder joints you made in step (6).

8) The only thing left is the Guide plate. Solder this in position Key this in position with pegs (q).
9) Use a Slick 7 Cut Down guide unless running on a track with very deep braid recesses.

Don’t forget to scrub chassis well with detergent and remove all traces of acid flux, prior to fitting ballraces and motor etc.

You may find on some tracks that a little weight behind the guide on the “weight plates” works a treat.

Which Pillar blocks you choose depends on your gear ratio requirements. You will be pushed to get anything larger than a 35t 64 pitch spur on the small pillar blocks without the gear protruding below the chassis line.
The Higher pillar blocks will allow up to a 38t 64p gear.
