Once again the Oaklands Club at Birmingham provided the venue for the Tottenham Regs 1/24th Race. An intersting 4 lane track with some even more interesting “wiggles”! The day comprised of 4 classes of racing being Hard Body Saloon, Lexan Saloon, lexan Formula One / Indy and Lexan Sports. Each class was judged for Concours with the number of allocated being in proportion to the class entry. Smallest class of the day was the 1st to be run, Hardbody Saloon, with the Concourse being taken by Chris Stemmen (top car, top photo). Race format to preserve these beasts was 4 heats, best run to count and a single lane final, lane choice by qualification order. Steve Francis proved the most conctant and quickest racer in this one, hottly persued by Ian Fisher, Chis Stemmen, Will Stemmen and Ralph Parker. Lexan Saloon was next up with Mick Kerr & Will Stemmen taking concourse (photo below - Mick Kerr’s back row, bottom, Will Stemmen’s back row top - a return to the magic marker and hair spray colour scheme!) Raced to the same format as Hardbody, Paul Harwood’s Ralph Parker built Camaro did the business, followed by Sandy Parker, Mick Kerr, Will Stemmen, Andy Brown-Searle, Chris Stemmen, Steve Francis and Graeme Stephenson. Favoured body in this class seemed to be the JK Camaro 4” shell.
