REAR END :- The chassis come with 2 pairs of pillar blocks. Select the pair you require for the axle height you need and solder in place with the pillar block brace.
Solder the rear upstops into place on the Bat Pan and using 032 wire, solder the rear upstop wires in place both sides as shown. Ensure that fore and aft pan movement is smooth and free. Using 2 pieces of 025 wire to space the pans from the centre section rails, check the overall width of the chassis and then fit the Pan Tie (this is bent from 025 wire).
Solder in the pin tube mounts and pin tubes. It is an idea to solder the pin tubes to the upstop wires as well as the pin tube mounts for extra strength.

New for 2004, the Scorpion RC4 and RC4/8 are designed for G12 Eurosport & OG12 racing.
The RC4/8 (0.8mm) is principly designed for use with higher downforce bodies such as the BPA Bentley etc. Whereas the RC4 is a thicker chassis (1mm) is designed for use with more “Scale” bodies such as the JK range of LMP’s used in the EEC series which the AB Scorpion family of chassis has dominated for the past 5 years.

Major design improvements to the RC4 include the improved centre spine location (as above). Use 0.62 piano wire and bend exactly to the correct angle. This wire should run the full length of the slot. It may be necessary to “square” the wire slightly to fit into the angle slot at rear. Cut the brass tube and solder to the front section. Lubricate the inside of the tube, slide in the wire and solder to the rear section. Follow this by soldering in the Bat Pan brace (1) into position (take care to ensure the centre section pivots correctly after you have finished). It may be necessary to grind a small radius on the underside of the bat pan brace to ensure it fits over the wire and flush with the bat pan.

FRONT END;- Polish and slightly radius the underside of the front T bar “Horns”, this will prevent the chassis digging in in the corners. Solder the front upstops in place on the T bar and using 0.47 wire, solder the inner and outer stop wires in place. You can space the pan from the centre rails by using a short piece of 0.25 wire between the pan and centre section rail.
Solder the Guide tab spacer and guide tab in position. Use 062 brass tube (pin tube) in the 2 locator holes to centre this assembly. Solder an ear-ring back to the top of the guide tab as a lead wire retainer.
