Slotracing encompasses many kinds of different cars and classes of racing from Scalextric though to Eurosport and Wing Car racing. This page has a number of short video clips to illustrate the speeds of the various classes. This is “New Technology” to us and in time we will add more classes to this page as files become available. The clips are very short to ensure fast downloads. Anyone who has any AVI files of different racing are welcome to e-mail them to us for possible inclusion. In addition to the AVI file, you are asked to send a j-peg of the car type in the file with body on and body off + a short technical description of the class of car.
All these clips are “actual car speed”, they have not been enhanced.

IMCA Style 1/24th scale “real scale” racing. Using Plafit and MoMo type chassis with Plafit Bison motors. Cars are either injection moulded or thick 0.030” lexan shells. Clips come from the 2002 IMCA Worlds and also jp’s Grimbergen home track.

Open G12 1/24th Scale. These cars are primarily a spring steel multi component chassis with a G12 C can motor. The bodies are 7 thou lexan and have moderate downforce. Pictures from German Masters, Minden, 2003

1/24th Eurosport. Possibly the fastest “scale” type racing on the planet. Bodies are 0.005” - 0.007” lexan, chassis are spring steel. Motors are “micro” sized strap type motors with rare earth magnets and precision wound and balanced armatures. Cars weigh approx. 65grams. Video clips from German Masters 2003.

1/32 Scale Spyder racing;-
Lexan body, protrack Spyder chassis and Slot-it V12 motor. These cars are run on a wood track with magnatraction braid. Rules allow for Spronge rear tyres and 1 rectangular traction magnet behind the motor. Ground clearance is minimum 0.8mm. Lap times on this 75ft. track are typically 2.96 for fast qualifying.

1/24th “Tottenham rules” Retro sports.
This racing is based around Slotcars raced in the UK during the 1970’s at the London Raceways. All cars must run original or scratchbuilt chassis which reflect the character and rules of the period and preferabley have original motors or original cans and up to G20 armatures.

Group 7 Wing Car ;- The fastest form of Slotracing!
The cars feature a very light plated alloy chassis and an open strap motor with multiple magnets (up to 10).
A combination of the light weight and awesome downforce produced by the lexan “wings” go to make a car which will lap a King track of 155 feet in between 1.9 & 2.10 seconds. This class also uses much tyre glue on the track to “brake” the cars before entering the turns.
