General rules for 1/32 - 2007
1. All body shells must be of hard plastic, glass fibre, resin or similar, no Vac-formed bodies are permitted. Cars must be finished in a style sympathetic to the period being raced and carry at least two racing numbers. 2. No sponge or silicon tyres. Tyre width limits in all classes are overall. All wheels must have representative inserts fitted. 3. Wheelbase + / - 2mm of scale prototype 4. Motors must have been available in their basic type before the end of 1966 Generic 1966 and earlier motors may be modified in respect of rewinding, mixing parts between eligible motors, modern replacement parts where originals are unavailable, limited to endbell, brush gear, bearings, armature, commutator, fixings and fasteners. Proslot/ Mura/ RJR/ modern 16d and C can etc. ceramic magnets are not allowed Current Chinese 16d motors are permitted as are other modern motors up to 16d size + current unmodified Falcon/ TSRF/ Standard and aftermarket Mabuchi S and SCX motors. MRRC/ Johnson 111/222 base motors are accepted as versions of generic 13UO/16d types 5. Guide not to protrude beyond the front-most point of the car when in straight ahead position 6. Any standard commercially available model of a prototype will be eligible for the class but will be subject to rules 1 and 3 7. A ground clearance of 1.5mm is required in all classes. 8. No flexiboard or similar modern chassis are allowed 9. All overall widths stated are the maximum. Any prototype with a scale width wider than the default figure has to be proven by the entrant.
Ready to Run Cars (RTR) 1. Any RTR car made by Scalextric, Ninco, Fly, etc that fits the class being raced may be used. Motor orientation does not have to comply with the class rule. As can any kit built car such as an MRRC Clubman. Provided that they comply with General Rules above. 2. To be accepted as a RTR, cars must be assembled with all the standard components as supplied by the manufacturer. Any part may be glued in place. The standard tyres must be used. 3. Traction magnets must be removed. 4. Ballast may be added, but must not be visible when the car is viewed from side-on or above, and may not be used to stiffen the chassis. 5. Body shells may be repainted and detailed but not altered in any way. 6. Body mounting screws may be loosened but must be prevented from falling out. 7. If any of the following are changed or modified in any way, except as permitted above, the car will be moved to the
Scratch Built and Modified Class. Motor, Gears, Wheels, Tyres, Guide, Chassis and Body Shell. Some models in this category are over scale to varying degrees. Any car that is over scale but is of generally similar size to cars in the same class will be accepted. As a guideline, Ninco Classics are ok but Vanquish MG Can-Am cars are not.
Car Classes
GP and Indy cars In all classes tyres must be visible from above the car.
Any GP or Indy car which has side tanks/fairings between the wheels must have these mounted as part of the body and must not have any part of the chassis or any ballast under or in these tanks/fairings.
